Wicked Local Pianist Ana Glig and her multi-media concert MusArt Interconnections return to the Cape Cod Museum of Art to showcase a solo recital and exhibition of her original art works. A socially distanced, limited number of seats will be available at the museum in addition to online streaming tickets. Glig (Gligvashvili) is an award-winning concert pianist praised for her ability to “capture hearts” by Musical America. A recipient of Alfred Cortot’s prize for the best interpretation of romantic music, Glig has performed internationally in Europe and the United States in solo and chamber settings. As an orchestra soloist, Glig has debuted with Georgia and Israeli symphonic orchestras. ....
While a small number of visitors are allowed at a time in person, the Falmouth Art Center has found a popular way to gather a larger group of people together around its exhibits. At 4 p.m. Monday, center officials will hold another online Zoom teleconference event that introduces new shows in its three galleries. The virtual “receptions” began last September after in-person art receptions were put on hold due to the pandemic. The virtual tours have taken on a life of their own, says executive director Laura Reckford, enlarging on past in-person receptions with what she calls a little more “programming.” Artists now have a chance to talk about their working style and share images or videos of their work. More than 30 viewers have joined in for past online events. ....
Ed Chesnovitch was unfamiliar with the terrain of a salt marsh when, 12 years ago, he bought a “run-down cottage” on the banks of Scorton Creek in East Sandwich. Scorton became his backyard, and he soon began kayaking to his working studio at the nearby historic “Bird Barn” he also bought. Chesnovitch has since constantly walked and explored the marsh, both in person and in painting. In an artist’s statement with his new exhibit at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, he describes the marsh as “both invigorating and peaceful, mysterious and magnificent, placid yet teaming with energy and life.” He says he is fascinated by that juxtaposition. ....
