7 SPU math students crack UGC NET | Vadodara News

Vadodara/ Anand:As many as seven students of the mathematics department of Vallabh Vidyanagar based SardarPatel University (SPU) have cleared their joint CSIR-UGC NET exam recently.
This is perhaps the highest number of students in Gujarat, who have cleared the national eligibility test (NET)in mathematics stream, one of the toughest higher education exams.
CSIR-UGC NET is a test conducted to determine the eligibility for junior research fellowship (JRF) and for lectureship(LS) in Indian universities and colleges subject to the eligibility criteria laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
“The exam was conducted in November 2020 and results declared recently. We are proud to have the highest number of students who have cleared NET from our department in Gujarat,” said head of mathematics department A H Hasmani. ....

Nirmalkumar Patel, a University of North Florida physics associate lecturer, received a U.S. Patent for his sensor invention that detects toxic vapors and odors in hazardous gases, industrial toxic gases and other chemical agents.
His patent on “Nanocrystalline Indium Tin Oxide Sensors and Associated Method of Use” solves issues with detection of low-level concentration of toxic gas in real time and operating at room temperature, states a news release from the university.
Patel and a team of student researchers developed nanocrystalline gas sensors and arrays to detect and measure minute concentrations of industrial toxic gases and hazardous chemicals. The sensors can operate at room temperature as well as in low-pressure conditions. ....

Rheumatologist joins Carney team

Dr. Vibha Inamdar, a rheumatology specialist, has joined the team of physicians at Carney Hospital. Dr. Inamdar earned her medical degree at Sardar Patel University in India and completed her residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
