Officials expand search for missing Clifton Township man

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. Authorities say the search for a missing Clifton Township man is expanding: family says Ron Nicholas, 72, was last seen about a week ago. Fishers found Nicholas‘s truck yesterday morning at Bradys Lake in Monroe County. 
Family members are now worried that Nicolas might be in danger after nearly a week without his medications.
Sandra Snyder, one of Nicholas’s four children, was with a small group of friends and family at the search site on Sunday. ....

ENERGY BRIEFING: Bipartisan Senators Release Land Leasing Bill

A bipartisan pair of senators are unveiling legislation today that would make companies pay more for oil and gas leases on federal lands, a day after the Biden administration began a comprehensive study of whether and how the U.S. sells those rights, Kellie Lunney reports.
Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) are releasing the “Fair Returns for Public Lands Act,” which would increase fees that oil and gas companies pay to lease onshore, including raising the royalty rate to 18.75% from the current 12.5% rate. The bill, which is companion legislation to a Democratic House bill, also would increase the rental rate for such leases and the national minimum bid per acre. ....

(Bloomberg) Major natural gas pipeline operators are committing to pare their carbon footprint and make their operations emissions-free by 2050, a pledge that could help ward off political attacks.
The promise from the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and its member companies which operate some 200,000 of the 300,000 miles of transmission pipes crisscrossing the U.S. is the latest industry pivot as Democrats take over the White House and Congress with vows to phase out fossil fuels. ....
