XpresCheck is a pop-up facility located pre-security, near the baggage claim area on the Arrivals level at Terminal 3. Nine separate testing rooms provide the capacity to administer over 500 tests per day. Boeing is close to finalizing a deal to transfer the lease of its Dreamlifter Operations Center at Paine Field in Everett to air cargo carrier FedEx, according to a document reviewed by The Seattle Times that outlines terms of the discussion.
The pending transfer effectively quashes any residual hope that 787 Dreamliner production now done exclusively in North Charleston, S.C. might one day restart in Everett.
It also heralds a busier flight schedule out of Paine Field as FedEx cargo flights join the new commercial passenger flights by Alaska and United, as well as Boeing’s delivery and test flights of newly built jets. ....

As countries bring infections rates down over the next few years, restrictions are expected to lift and air travel is expected to rise again. The very idea of jetting off to somewhere anywhere new sounds good to a lot of people.
But maybe not as many people as you think, and it has nothing to do with COVID. Before the pandemic, 70 percent of flights originating in the U.K. were made by only 15 percent of the country s population.
