Berlin: A German regulator on Tuesday slapped a three-month ban on Facebook collecting user data from WhatsApp accounts and referred the case to an EU watchdog, citing concerns about election integrity. The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information sent the order to the social network, which owns the popular messaging service. Hamburg has jurisdiction because Facebook’s German branch is based in the city. ....

A Kiwi derivatives trading firm and subsidiary of a Hong Kong company has admitted breaching anti-money-laundering laws after action was taken by the regulator.
CLSA Premium New Zealand Limited (CLSAP NZ) was accused of nearly
$50 million in suspicious transactions in a civil case filed in the High Court at Auckland by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) in June last year.
Today, the FMA said the Auckland-based company has admitted it breached the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Act. The markets watchdog had alleged the company failed to comply with its legal obligations between April 2015 and November 2018. ....

It s not just number of COVID health claims but the average size of claims that s worrying health insurers. Claims are even higher for non-COVID cases, say insurers.
The average claim size for COVID claims is nearly one lakh versus a pre-COVID average of Rs 50,000-Rs 55,000, said Rajagopal Rudraraju, Senior Vice President & Product Head - Health & Health Claims, Tata AIG. âThe increase in average claim size for COVID is unprecedented in the industry and needs to be addressed, else these could be passed on to the customer by way of increase in premiumsâ, he said. ....
