Over $ 28 billion included in the Restaurant Revitalization Act will start to go out to restaurants around the country at the end of this month, giving much needed relief to an industry hit hard by the pandemic.
But in the meantime, two Capital Region chefs are receiving some national recognition. The chef of McGeary’s Pub, Shaila Abasse and Allie Williams of Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen will both be featured on The Food Network’s Chef Bootcamp this season. The pandemic forced Abasse to lay off workers and she now operates her kitchen with limited staff. Both chefs say that the show has shown them they will be able to succeed, despite the pandemic. ....
