He also served on Hopatcong s school board. The state Attorney General s Office first accused him of the violations in a 17-page complaint in October 2017. He resigned from his $71,304 position as head of the soil conservation district in March 2018. The complaint detailed personal trips by Lundin in state vehicles totaling thousands of miles that weren t accounted for. It also detailed his use of state computers to store files related to his private law practice, visit dating websites, and download at least 122 prurient images of nude or naked males. ....
New Jersey Herald NEWTON The Sussex County Commissioners will resume in-person only meetings beginning Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center auditorium at Sussex County Community College at 6 p.m. The county board announced the change on its website. According to the office of the clerk for the commissioners, an audio recording of the meeting will be posted online shortly after the meeting is concluded for residents who don t wish to attend in person. The meetings will be held with social distancing protocols in place, which includes masks. Meetings will be held in person through the end of the year unless otherwise noted. The meetings for Tuesday, Nov. 9; Tuesday, Nov. 23 and Dec. 21 will be held remotely. The Nov. 23 and Dec. 21 meetings will be at 9 a.m. and the Nov. 9 meeting will be at 6 p.m. ....

The deputy county clerk s original letter explained that state mandates stemming from the 2018 and 2019 election changes in the state, raised costs because they require counties to send mail-in ballots to all registered voters. Those mailed ballots include special envelopes to return the ballots by mail, or to bring it to a drop-off box. In addition to the cost of producing the ballots, there is an extra postage charge for those sent back via mail. It wasn t until the federal election of 2020, a presidential election and its increase in the number of voters, that the added expense was apparent. The pandemic cut down on people who voted in person and increased the number of ballots mailed back. ....
New Jersey Herald KNOWLTON The riverside, eastbound lane of Route 80 through the Delaware Water Gap will be closed weekdays for retaining wall work for the next two months, said the state Department of Transportation. The retaining wall was built to hold the fill on which the four-lane highway was built in the late 1950s. There is a complex of drains under the highway to direct water running off the side of Mount Tammany, under the highway and into the Delaware River, just a few feet from the base of the wall. The lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays by the contractor, IEW Construction Inc., between mileposts 1.0 and 1.4, an area known as the S-curves, the DOT said. ....
