A Delaware County man was sentenced to probation after he admitted to authorities he imitated his dead mother to cast a ballot for former President Donald Trump in the general election last year, authorities announced.
Bruce Bartman, 70, of Marple Township, is a registered Republican and allegedly used the state s online voter registration portal to register both his dead mother, Elizabeth Bartman, and his dead mother-in-law, Elizabeth Weihman, as Republican voters on Aug. 20, 2020, according to Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
After the Bureau of Elections received and recorded an absentee ballot in Bartman s dead mother s name on Oct. 28, 2020, the vote it contained was counted in the tally for the Nov. 3, 2020, general election, the DA s office said. ....

A Pennsylvania man is facing up to 19 years in prison after prosecutors say he admitted to illegally casting a ballot in the general election for President Donald Trump as his dead mother and also registering his dead mother-in-law to vote with the intent to do the same.
Bruce Bartman, 70, was charged with two counts of perjury and one count of unlawful voting after allegedly registering both deceased women online to vote in the Nov. 3 election using either their driver’s license or social security number, prosecutors said Monday. ....

Pennsylvania man voted for Donald Trump using dead mother's mail-in ballot, prosecutors say

The system did what it was supposed to do, which was make a check to the PennDOT system, and for some reason, not only was it not caught as a voter registration for a deceased individual, in fact the system uploaded the information from PennDOT, including the signature, said Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer.
Bartman also attempted to use the social security number of his deceased mother-in-law to obtain a mail-in ballot for her, but he was unable to do so after he allegedly falsified additional information requested by the state when it flagged the request.
Bartman told prosecutors he intended to vote for Republican Donald Trump on behalf of both deceased women. ....
