Okowa. Photo: TWITTER/IAOKOWADelta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, yesterday, urged the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to put more emphasis on its Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to enable its road projects to last longer.
Okowa stated this at Idumuje-Unor, Aniocha North Council of the state during a reception organised for Justice Samuel Chukwudumebi Oseji on his elevation to Justice of the Supreme Court.

The governor who was reacting to an appeal by the community to prevail on the NDDC to complete the Onicha-Uku/Idumuje-Unor Road awarded since 2012, said there was the need for a review of the contract, as the value of the naira had weakened over the years. ....

NDDC: Akpabio Shouldn't Be Crucified over Appointment of Sole Administrator, Says Group

The South-south Emerging Leaders Forum has said that the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, should not be crucified following the sack of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the appointment of Mr. Effiong Akwa as the Sole Administrator of the agency by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The National Coordinator of the Forum, Mr. Preye Johnson, in a statement issued yesterday explained that the appointment of Akwa was done in line with the Act setting up the commission.
The forum noted that a critical analysis of the development has revealed that the few persons who are against the recent appointment were doing so for their personal gains. ....

Following the recent appointment of Mr Effiong Akwa as the Sole Administrator for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has been absolved of any wrongdoing.
A forum of professional from the South-south on the platform of the South-south Emerging Leaders Forum (SELF) said the appointment of Effiong Akwa was done in line with the Act setting up the Commission.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday by its National Coordinator Barrister Preye Johnson, explained that the former governor of Akwa Ibom state should not be crucified for the decision to sack the IMC or in the appointment of Mr Effiong Akwa as the Sole Administrator of the NDDC. ....
