Governor Baker Visits Falmouth To Discuss Affordable Housing

Governor Charles D. Baker Jr. paid a visit to Little Pond Place July 22 to participate in a roundtable discussion with local officials regarding affordable housing on Cape Cod.
“Almost every survey, every study I’ve seen for the last five or six years, says the single thing that makes Massachusetts an expensive place to live more than anything else is the cost of housing,” Gov. Baker said. “And when you think about that giant amount in rent or mortgage that people pay, and what that does to their ability to pay for almost anything else, it really is something that deserves to be recognized and dealt with in a serious way.” ....

Marijuana Policy
Florida Supreme Court Strikes Down 2022 Marijuana Legalization Initiative. The state Supreme Court last Thursday threw out a proposed voter initiative constitutional amendment, holding that the measure s ballot summary was misleading because it says it permits the possession, production, and sale of marijuana when marijuana is still illegal under federal law. The state s Republican attorney general challenged the initiative on those grounds last year and the state s all Republican-appointed court justices agreed. Now, its back to the drawing board for legalization supporters in the state. ....

St. Louis County Council Votes to Decriminalize Marijuana Possession

St. Louis County Moves to Decriminalize Cannabis
A measure that reduces the penalty for possessing marijuana (up to 35 grams) was passed by the St. Louis County Council on April 13th, with a vote of 6-1. Currently in the county, cannabis possession could lead to a $1,000 fine or a full year in jail, but the proposed legislation would lessen that to a fine of less than $100 eliminating the possibility of jail time.
Tim Fitch, a former police chief for St. Louis County, used to enforce those high penalties, but after seeing state and local laws evolve the last handful of years, Fitch is leading the charge to reduce punishment.  ....

Can Susan Rice Lead New America? Quotes From Her Past Should Horrify the Woker World

What does Susan Rice think about slavery?
As you probably know, Biden’s picked the former national security advisor to head his White House Domestic Policy Council.
RedState’s Bonchie’s not a fan on December 10th, he made that clear:
Only in Washington D.C. could you be as abject of a failure, and as terrible of a person, as Susan Rice and still be in line for a top administration role the next time around.
But speaking of the past, as we watch the increasingly pro-reparations party pack positions, it’s worth looking at Susan’s comments on America’s Greatest Shame once upon a time. ....
