Hong Kong s national security law reached its half-year mark on Wednesday as the city prepared to send off a turbulent 2020.
The Beijing-imposed legislation continued its ripple effect over the past month, with the spotlight on media tycoon Jimmy Lai Chee-ying. The 73-year-old was remanded for 20 days after first being charged with fraud, then with collusion with foreign forces under the new law.
