Ezdan Holding Group net profit rises to QR347.94m

Doha: Ezdan Holding Group yesterday announced a net profit of QR347.94m for the year ended December 31 2020 compared to QR309.29m net profit in 2019, showing an increase of 12.5 percent.
The Group’s earnings per share (EPS) amounted to QR0.013 by the end of 2020, compared to QR0.012 during 2019. The Group generated revenues of QR1.4bn, compared to QR1.67bn for a year earlier.
The Board of Directors of Ezdan Holding Group convened yesterday, and ratified the annual financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020.
The Board of Directors recommended no dividends for the financial year ended December 31, 2020. That recommendation will be submitted for approval at the Annual General Assembly meeting. ....

OSLO US President Joe Biden clinched the top role last November on the back of a campaign promise to launch the Clean Energy Revolution in the country, with a chief aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Rystad Energy estimates that the significant utility solar PV installed capacity required to meet the target would occupy around 13,412 square miles of land, equivalent to 0.43% of the total land area in the lower 48 states, or roughly 50 times the size of Austin, Texas.
Land scarcity is often cited as a key barrier to ramping up solar and wind energy capacity in the US, thus undermining the country’s revitalized decarbonization ambitions for the next 30 years. ....

Microsoft has released its second preview of .NET 6, but confirmed there will be no visual designer for WinUI 3.0 when it comes out in November this year.
WinUI 3.0 is intended to be the primary official framework for Windows desktop applications.
Microsoft s .NET 6 is the first long-term release of its revamped development platform for running C#, F#, and to some extent Visual Basic applications on Windows, cross-platform, and on the web. (Ecofin Agency) - Bank of Africa’s subsidiary in Burkina Faso ended FY2020 with a net profit of CFA17.6 billion (€26.8 million), down 4.8% compared to 2019.
This poor performance contrasts with the resilience that the bank showed during the first three quarters of 2020. BOA Burkina Faso s net profit was up 22% at the end of the first six months of last year. At the end of September, it was still up by 5.7%. This continued deterioration in profitability has not yet been explained, as the company has not commented on its results. But it can be noted that its cost of risk reached CFA5.2 billion at the end of 2019, 160% compared to 2019. ....
