California Judge Refuses To Confiscate Defendant's Guns


California and guns. We know how that story tends to play out. The powers that be in California aren’t fans of the Second Amendment and, as a result, everyone who owns guns in the state tends to be a little concerned about, well, everything.
After all, if the state can figure out a way to justify taking your guns, they will. Even if you leave the state.

Judge Slaps Injunction on Race-Based USDA Program in 'Repudiation of Biden's Equity Agenda'

On Thursday, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted class certification and a preliminary injunction against the United States Department of Agriculture from providing loan forgiveness to farmers and ranchers on the basis of race or ethnicity, per an order from Judge Reed O Connor. 
The Court concludes that Plaintiffs are likely to succeed on the merits of their claim that the Government’s use of race-and ethnicity-based preferences in the administration of the loan-forgiveness program violates equal protection under the Constitution, his order noted. In sum, the Government’s evidence falls short of demonstrating a compelling interest, as any past discrimination is too attenuated from any present-day lingering effects to justify race-based remedial action by Congress, Judge O Connor also wrote.  ....

Two of three Florida men charged with breaking into cars in Eagle County plead guilty


EAGLE Two of the three Florida men facing more than a dozen charges for allegedly breaking into cars in Eagle County entered guilty pleas on two charges Monday, asking for the others to be dismissed.
Warren Day, 31, and Demetrius Hutchins, 31, both of Coconut Creek, Florida, appeared in court virtually Monday morning and both pleaded guilty to the same two counts: first-degree criminal trespass, a class 5 felony, and identity theft, a class 4 felony.
Clarence Robinson, who was 19 at the time of his arrest, of Sunrise, Florida, also made his first appearance in court Monday morning, but his defense attorney asked for more time on his case. His next appearance is set for the afternoon of Aug. 2. ....
