ADOL Announces New Phone System for Unemployment Claims

The Alabama Department of Laborhas announced a new phone system designed to assist residents with the unemployment claims process.
The new system will be available Monday, January 4th. ADOL anticipates being able to assist 600 Alabamians each weekday.
“This new callback system will allow us to serve more claimants per day than we’ve been able to previously,” said Alabama Department of Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington. “We’ve been working nonstop to improve our services to unemployed Alabamians and this system will hopefully accomplish that.”
Those in need of submitting a claim or those who have questions about their existing claim can call 1-800-361-4524 to set an appointment for a call back. Only one call back appointment can be scheduled per day, so those in need of assistance are encouraged to have their phones with them the day of their respective call backs. ....

Montgomery: In-person help for residents needing assistance with unemployment claims is coming to an end as a new phone appointment system will be established for the new year. The Department of Labor said it is ending in-person service at the Crump Senior Center because of health and safety concerns related to the coronavirus. The last dates for such service will be Monday and Tuesday. Appointments for those days will be available on the ADOL website www.labor.alabama.gov. Claimants can call (800) 361-4524 beginning Sunday after 5 p.m. until midnight on Sundays through Thursday to schedule a call-back for the next day to set up an appointment. MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - In-person help for Alabama residents needing assistance with unemployment claims is coming to an end as a new phone appointment system will be established for the new year.
The Alabama Department of Labor, in a news release, said it is ending in-person service at the Crump Senior Center in Montgomery due to health and safety concerns related to the coronavirus.
Beginning Jan. 3, claimants can call 1-800-361-4524 after 5 p.m. until midnight on Sundays through Thursday to schedule a call back for the next day to set up an appointment. ....

Alabama Department of Labor Launching Phone System to Help with Unemployment Claims

The Alabama Department of Labor will soon launch a new phone appointment system for people with unemployment compensation claims who need help.
Beginning January 3, claimants can call (800) 361-4524 after 5 p.m. until midnight on Sundays through Thursdays to schedule a call back for the next day.
600 callbacks will be scheduled each day, with the exception of holidays and weekends. If you can’t get an appointment on one day, you should call back the next day after 5 p.m., according to the Labor Department.
