team gathers ‘round the (currently virtual) conference room table to watch the latest and greatest in all things drama. This month, our colleagues at MASTERPIECE
are bringing us Atlantic Crossing,
a historical dramatization of the relationship between U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and Norwegian Crown Princess Martha set against the backdrop of WWII. I’m here to recap the show as it happens.
We’re starting the week off with a monologue from the one and only FDR. While he prepares for the day with a morning swim, we get a voiceover about how he has big dreams, which are challenged by world events. He goes on to say that World War II is an inevitability, no matter how much everyone wishes that wasn’t the case, but America will NOT be joining the fight.
