Islamists Take Police and Rangers Hostage During Anti-French Riots

(AFP) At least seven Pakistan police officers and special rangers were taken hostage Sunday by supporters of a radical Islamist party, officials said, after days of violent anti-France protests.
Rioting has rocked Pakistan for the last week since the leader of the now-banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) was detained in the second biggest city Lahore after calling for the expulsion of the French ambassador.
The protests have paralysed cities and led to the deaths of six policemen, prompting the French embassy to recommend all its nationals temporarily leave the country.

Report: One in Seven Extremists In Sweden Are Women

A study conducted by the Swedish Institute for Future Studies has revealed that women are far more active in extremists groups than previously thought, with women making up one in seven extremists in the country.
The study found that women make up around 15 per cent of those actively involved in various extremist groups from the far right, far left, and radical Islam. Women also are highly active within the groups, though their roles are varied depending on which variety of extremist group they are a part of.
Amir Rostami, associate professor of criminology, helped author the report and spoke to Swedish broadcaster SVT, saying: “In left-wing extremism, it seems very equal. In Islamism, women are also included – but they do not have the same central role.” ....

The ruling left-separatist party in Scotland has vowed to introduce “anti-racist education” in order to confront the “UK’s colonial history”.
The election manifesto from the Scottish National Party (SNP), dubbed “Scotland’s Future“, said that the Black Lives Matter movement has inspired the party to mandate that schools teach Marxist-style attacks on British history to their pupils.
“The Black Lives Matter movement has shone a powerful spotlight on continuing racial injustice and race-based violence, and the need for countries to face their colonial history,” said the manifesto for the party, which runs the British home nation’s devolved government roughly equivalent to a state government in the United States. ....

French Cops Told to Bend Curfew Rules for Muslims at Ramadan: Report

Police and gendarmes in the French department of Tarn have reportedly been instructed to not give out warnings or fines to Muslims breaking Wuhan coronavirus curfew during Ramadan.
Officers have allegedly been instructed by the Tarn prefecture not to hand out warnings or fines to Muslims who travelling until 10 p.m. at night and from 5 a.m. in the morning as they go for prayers.
Currently, mainland France is under a curfew from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the French government website, which lists several exemptions such as work or walking a pet within one kilometre of a residence but does not list any specific religious exemptions. ....

London Mayor Candidates Urged to Include 'Black Manifesto' in Platforms

Race activists are urging candidates in the upcoming London mayoral elections to adopt “Black Manifesto” policies to tackle so-called systemic racism in areas such as criminal justice and health.
In an open letter to candidates noting that “the whole world was rocked by the Black Lives Matter movement” in 2020, with society “forced society to hold a mirror up to itself and confront its deep rooted issues with systemic racism and unconscious bias”, the All Black Coalition (ABC) said that candidates vying for the position of London mayor currently held by Labour’s Sadiq Khan, whose first term was extended by election delays following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic should implement policies from a “Black Community (UK) Manifesto”. ....
