The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has intensified protests in the United States in a bid to condemn forceful abductions of political activists by security forces in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. On June 26, the BNM organised a demonstration outside the White House against enforced disappearance and demanded the safe release of Dr Deen Mohammed Baloch, leader of BNM who was taken into custody by Pakistani forces 12-years ago. According to videos accessed exclusively by Republic Media Netowork, several people are seen standing outside the White House, demanding safe recoveries of Baloch people, who are victims of enforced disappearance.  ....

UN experts raise concerns over scourge of enforced disappearances and torture in Pakistan

Geneva [Switzerland], December 10 (ANI): UN human rights experts have raised concerns about the scourge of enforced disappearances and torture in Pakistan, calling on the Government to uphold its human rights obligations by initiating prompt, thorough and impartial investigations into such acts.
The experts highlighted the government s failure to fully investigate the case of human rights defender Idris Khattak who was taken into custody by Pakistani Military Intelligence on 13 November 2019 and held incommunicado for over seven months.
In June of this year, authorities acknowledged his detention, but he continues to be deprived of his most basic rights. ....
