North Lake Tahoe Fire launches new rescue boat

Over the past several months first responders for the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District have been conducting rescue operations training since receiving a new boat.
The district recently launched the boat at Cave Rock, where it will be housed and used for emergency rescue operations.
The boat features twin 250 horsepower motors, a 500 gallons-per-minute fire pump and bow monitor, an open center console that allows for unobstructed visibility, and a patient care area on the aft deck that accommodates a stretcher. Additionally, the boat is equipped with sonar, radar and forward-looking infrared technologies, providing enhanced operational versatility during search and rescue emergency response incidents. ....

Weymouth police row for late harbormaster Paul Milone

Police Chief Richard Fuller said “it was only fitting” to rename Seawatch.
“Paul was the kind of guy who would drop everything he was doing to help someone,” he said. “He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. This world needs more people like Paul Milone. When Paul passed away in December, we knew right away that we wanted to rename the boat after Paul.”
Fuller said Milone spent months and months designing the boat renamed after him and manufactured last year by Safe Boats International, a Bremerton, Washington State-based firm.
Safe Boats officials stated they worked closely with Milone “…to configure the boat to his exact specifications, and it was fitting to rename the craft in his memory at the beginning of National Police Week. ....
