Doug Mack of Mary s Restaurant After 38 years in Bristol, Linda Harmon and Doug Mack are selling the historic property where they grew Mary s Restaurant and the Inn at Baldwin Creek into a farm-to-table dining and event destination.
On June 11, the couple will sign the final papers to sell the buildings, acreage, and much of the inn and restaurant equipment to Kate Baron and Jason Kirmse. Baron and Kirmse moved to Vermont earlier this year from California s Bay Area with their two young sons.
They look like us [about] 40 years ago, Harmon said, adding that she and her husband had been eyeing retirement and put the property on the market right before the pandemic. ....

The Inn at Baldwin Creek and Mary's Restaurant shuts down in Bristol

An inn, restaurant and wedding destination that has been in business in Bristol for 38 years is shutting down this weekend.
The Inn at Baldwin Creek & Mary s Restaurant will close May 23, according to a post Tuesday on its Facebook page.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our bittersweet decision to officially step out of the restaurant-inn business and into much anticipated retirement,” according to the post.
The restaurant on Vermont 116 outside Bristol also offers lodging and has served as a site for weddings and other community events. The Inn at Baldwin Creek & Mary’s Restaurant is owned by chef Doug Mack and his wife, Linda Harmon. ....

Wyoming Arts Council's Arts Learning Innovations Award nomination period is open

Nominations are open for the Wyoming Arts Councilâs Arts Learning Innovations Award that recognizes a distinguished Wyoming arts educator. Nominations are accepted for educators in all artistic disciplines including, theater, dance, visual, literary, and performing arts.
The Arts Learning Innovations Award seeks to celebrate a Wyoming K-12 arts educator who is utilizing new and innovative ways to incorporate arts in their classroom or in an online environment.

Wyoming licensed and certified arts educators in any art discipline â theater, dance, visual, literary and performing arts are eligible. Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination and educators that meet the criteria may nominate themselves. Applications are due by Aug. 16, 2021. 2 BCE students participated in State Spelling Bee

(Lander, WY) – Baldwin Creek Elementary (BCE) 5th graders Addison Gantz and Kathryn Wilson competed against 71 other spellers representing 14 counties in the 2021 Wyoming State Spelling Bee.
This year’s event was held virtually on March 20th. The competition was a challenge with 25 spelling questions and 25 vocabulary questions with only 30 minutes to complete the test.

Kathryn ended up in a 4-way tie for 2nd place with the first online test. She took the second tiebreaker test on March 29th and finished in the top 5 overall.
“Finishing in the top 5 is quite an achievement for a 5th grader as the spelling bee is for 5th-8th grade students,” BCE Library Media Specialist Nicole Jordan shared. ....
