Bearsville Theater
Last month marked a full year since the lockdown went into effect in New York State, putting a freeze on musical performances as part of the overall effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19. But on March 3, the governor's office announced that arts, entertainment, and events venues statewide could reopen on April 2. The resumption carries with it some strict regulations: Until further notice, venues can only operate at 33 percent of their usual indoor capacity, with a limit of 100 people indoors or 200 people outdoors, and all attendees must wear masks and maintain social distancing. (Admission limits would be increased to 150 indoors or 500 outdoors if all audience members have tested negative before entering.) We checked in with several Hudson Valley venues to see how they've been holding up and how they plan to negotiate the restriction easements.

Edwards sentenced in connection with Pawling Avenue murder

TROY, N.Y. — Rensselaer County District Mary Pat Donnelly announced the sentencing of Rashad Edwards, 36, of Troy, in the 2019 stabbing death of Brianna Haughton of Schodack.
Rensselaer County Court Judge Jennifer Sober sentenced Edwards to 23 years to life for the charge of felony second-degree murder, and 3 1/2 to seven years for felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Since Edwards was a second time felony offender, Sober enforced the maximum sentences.
Edwards, who was released on parole in connection with a previous charge, was arrested following an investigation into the death of Haughton. Haughton’s body was found on Jan. 14, 2019, at 491 Pawling Ave., Troy, after a welfare check by Troy police. An extensive probe revealed that Edwards had repeatedly stabbed Haughton in the presence of their infant child.

Are These Bigfoot Tracks From Pawling New York?

Are These Bigfoot Tracks From Pawling New York?
With all the recent snowfall across New York State, did Bigfoot researchers get lucky in capturing footprints in the snow? These footprints were found in Pawling New York.
Pawling is a village in Dutchess County of New York state. It's part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan area of the state. It has plenty of woods, and recently received plenty of snow.
Bigfoot Researchers of the Hudson Valley posted on February 17th of 2021 on their Facebook post of what appears to be Bigfoot prints in the snow. Pawling is right next to a town called Wingdale. Wingdale is the next town North, and the Wingdale Mountain stretches a good distance into base of Berkshire's. If a Bigfoot was to live in this area of the Hudson Valley, this is likely where you would find one.

On January 10, 1971, New York State Police responded to the former Cattle Car Restaurant, located on State Route 22 between the Towns of Wingdale and Pawling, to investigate an apparent homicide.
The restaurant appeared to be in disarray; bar stools had been turned over and coin boxes had been removed from the jukebox and cigarette machines, police say. An investigation revealed that Zaniboni died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Zaniboni was last seen at the restaurant the night before his murder by another employee.
The Murder Sheet, a podcast that looks into the phenomenon of restaurant homicides, takes a "new deep dive" into Zaniboni's murder in its latest episode.
