As provincial COVID-19 infection numbers continue to show improvement, the number of new cases in the Peterborough region is heading in the opposite direction and at the worst possible time with the Victoria Day long weekend almost here.

Health unit to open COVID-19 vaccine booking Friday for adults 70 and older in 2021

Public Health Sudbury and Districts will open COVID-19 booking for adults who are 70 and older in 2021 one day earlier than anticipated, the health unit said in a release.
As part of a province-wide update to the booking system, those individuals will now be able to book appointments starting on Friday.

PHSD had previously announced it would open booking for the 70-and-up crowd on Saturday.
Adults 70 years of age or older can use the provincial online system to book an appointment by visiting covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine. Those who are eligible can have someone book an appointment on their behalf.
