BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Governor Cuomo says he will not resign, but he could get impeached.
So, what’s next?
Retired New York State Supreme Court Judge, Penny Wolfgang, said criminal and civil cases are next.
“The women who are the victims could file civil lawsuits against the governor for damages because of all the harassment and things that happened to them,” Wolfgang said. Criminal proceedings would be by the district attorney in Albany County where the assaults allegedly occurred.
The Speaker of the New York State Assembly said in a statement Tuesday that “it is abundantly clear to me that the governor has lost the confidence of the assembly democratic majority and that he can no longer remain in office. Barclay, Colleagues Introduce Resolution To Overturn Cuomo's Restaurant Mandates – Oswego County Today

ALBANY, NY – Assembly Republican Leader Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski), Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) and their colleagues in the Republican Conference are introducing a joint resolution to overturn Gov. Cuomo’s arbitrary mandates that have unnecessarily hurt restaurants and bars throughout the state.
Republicans in both the Assembly and Senate are calling for the repeal of two of Gov. Cuomo’s Executive Orders: one which forces restaurants to close early, currently 11 p.m., and another which requires customers to purchase food with any order of an alcoholic beverage.
“The Legislature has always had the ability to roll back any of Gov. Cuomo’s questionable Executive Orders, but Democrats have refused to take any steps to do so. It’s time we use some common sense and offer assistance to an industry which suffered so much pain during the pandemic,” said Leader Barclay. “Republicans are offering two measures to overturn Executive Orders that are not roote ....

Former President Donald Trump is being investigated for criminal charges in at least 3 states, according to House impeachment manager delegate Stacey Plaskett.
Former President Donald Trump could still face criminal charges despite being acquitted on an article of impeachment, said Delegate Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands on Tuesday.
Trump, the only U.S. president to be impeached twice, faced an impeachment trial in the Senate for allegedly inciting violence against the U.S. government. Democrats pointed to Trump s repeated claims of voter fraud being a factor in President Joe Biden s win as helping to create the environment that caused Trump supporters to start a riot at the U.S. Capitol building in January. ....
