Biden on road to sell stimulus; DNC billboards hit Scott, Rubio


The Democratic National Committee on Monday unveiled billboards in Miami and Tampa to highlight the Biden administration s $1.9 trillion stimulus plan s benefits and remind voters that Florida s two U.S. senators, Republicans Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, opposed the measure.
“Voters in Tampa won’t be able to miss this message: help is here, and it’s because of President Biden, not Senators Rubio or Scott who opposed this bill and the relief it provides Floridians,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison in a statement.
The effort is part of a broad effort by the White House and Democrats to build more support for the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan President Biden signed into law last week. Biden on Tuesday will kick off a nationwide campaign with a stop in Pennsylvania. ....

FAU Poll: Floridians Bullish on U.S. Economy but Less Certain about Personal Finances, Spending Habits and Daily Routines

BOCA RATON, Fla., March 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/  While Floridians are upbeat about the U.S. economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, many residents believe their finances won t return to normal until later this year or even beyond 2022, according to a statewide survey by the Florida Atlantic University Business and Economics Polling Initiative  (FAU BEPI).
The survey showed that 36 percent of respondents were optimistic about the nation s economic conditions in the next 12 months, while 28 percent were pessimistic. But personal money matters were another concern, with 21 percent saying it will take six months to a year for their finances to recover and 10 percent saying it will be later in 2022 or beyond. ....
