Beach Volleyball Earns No. 3 Seed for the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State beach volleyball team will hold the No. 3 seed in the fifth edition of the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. Florida State opens the tournament against sixth-seeded Stanford on Friday, May 7 at 1:00 pm ET.
“We are so excited to just get this NCAA Tournament started and see the selections for the bracket,” said head coach Brooke Niles. “We can now really prepare for the teams in front of us and the first team is Stanford. Their assistant coach Angela Rock and I go way back. I played with their head coach, Andrew Fuller’s wife for a few years internationally and he actually coached us some. I think we are all really familiar with each other and they have great players and we have great players. It is going to be a really good battle. We are just really excited to get started.” ....

Beach Advances to the CCSA Championship With a 4-1 Win Over LSU
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (31-4) continued their winning ways at the CCSA Tournament with a 4-1 win over LSU (24-6), improving their record to 25-0 all-time at the conference tournament.
It was a highly contested match across the board as three of the five courts went to three sets and only one set was won by more than five points.
Florida State jumped out early to take three of the five first sets on courts two, four and five. Sara Putt and Raelyn White converted that into the only straight-set win of the afternoon for the Seminoles on court four. Beach advances to semifinals with a 4-1 win over South Carolina
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (30-4) earned a 4-1 win over No. 17 South Carolina (22-8) on Friday night to advance to the semifinals of the CCSA Championship.
The Seminoles jumped out to early leads on courts two through four turning all four of them into first sets wins. Court one was back and forth with Torrey Van Winden and Keara Rutz trailing 14-13. They went on to take the first set 21-16 after winning eight of the final 10 points.
The second sets were a little bit closer but the Noles would win four of them to take a 4-0 lead. Alaina Chacon and Maddie Anderson were the first to finish for the Garnet and Gold as they took court two 21-16, 21-10. Payton Caffrey and Molly McBain gave Florida State a 2-0 lead not too long after with a 21-17, 21-19 win on court thre ....

No. 4 Beach Caps off Regular Season with a Perfect Weekend
GULF SHORES, Ala. – The fourth-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (28-4) finished off the regular season, going 3-0 on Sunday with a pair of wins over No. 7 TCU and a 5-0 win over Tulane.
The Seminoles started the day with a 3-2 win over No. 7 TCU, FSU’s first of two wins on the day over the Horned Frogs. Florida State got on the board first with a point from court five. Jenna Johnson and Kate Privett were tied at 14 in the first set when one of TCU’s players got hurt and could not continue the match, resulting in an FSU win. ....
