Fortnite: How to Get the Batman Zero Wing Glider
Fortnite is currently experiencing an unprecedented crossover event, with the events of DC's
Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic series making their way from the page and into the battle royale game. This has included a number of new in-game cosmetic items for players to unlock, ranging from full character skins to various tools. The latest to join that list is a new glider mimicing Batman's winged cape, appropriately named the "Batman Zero Wing" glider. If you're looking to add the glider to your collection, there are actually multiple ways of unlocking it — and here's what you need to know about them.

Update #2: We were lucky enough to get a pre-release sample of Retro-Bit's gorgeous Toaplan collection, and we have to say, it's pretty impressive stuff.
Not only does this collection come with proper packaging – including instructions and reversible sleeve artwork – it also features neat little extras like stickers and a special interview with former Toaplan staffer Masahiro Yuge.
As you can see from the photos below, we were sent the complete collection in a slipcase, which also comes with a collectable Zero Wing enamel pin and a special "Thank You" card from Yuge.

The Sunday Papers

The Sunday Papers is our weekly roundup of great writing about (mostly) videogames from across the web.
Sundays are for watching yet another episode of Married at First Sight Australia, perhaps some of the most dramatic TV I've ever seen. Before we turn on the telly, let's read some of the best writing about games this week.
For Polygon, Patricia Hernandez wrote about video game historian Kate Willaert's hunt for Ban Tran, a developer that's responsible for the first depiction of a female protagonist in video games.
She’s been working on this project for a decade now, which is also about as long as she and other internet sleuths have been trying to find Tran. So far, despite tapping other gaming historians, putting out a call on social media, and sending many physical letters, the search for Tran has hit a wall. We can’t ask Tran if Wabbit was influenced by the existence of Space Invaders, or what her other wild ideas apparently were. We don’t know what she went on to do, or if she’s still in tech at all. We don’t even know if she’s still called Ban Tran.

You can't watch it in its original form, but the All Your Base flash animation that inspired one of the first internet memes is now 20 years old.
The iconic flash animation that popularized the garbled phrase All Your Base Are Belong To Us as a proto-meme is now 20 years old. Flash portal Newgrounds posted a tweet to celebrate two decades of All Your Base, and you can even watch it through the help of the Flash emulator Ruffle.

These Places Were Not Ready for Flash to Die

Adobe Flash went dark on Dec. 31. The software had been flickering out since 2017, when Adobe announced it would discontinue Flash with three and a half years’ warning. Reminder statements, press attention, and pop-ups warning about Flash’s discontinuation all followed. But despite the ample time to prepare, multiple government and corporate systems across the world were still caught by surprise when the Flash plugin finally died.
Flash first burst onto the web in 1996, revolutionizing how video and audio was used and shared online. The software essentially transported the internet from Kansas to the technicolor land of Oz. A plethora of animations and games were produced using Flash: Salad Fingers, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Facebook games like FarmVille, and “All Your Base Are Belong to Us,” a Flash video—derived from the game Zero Wing—whose 20th anniversary is this month. Flash provided the foundation for creating viral videos and for streaming high-quality videos. YouTube, Facebook, and Netflix all ran on Flash. In 2009, 99 percent of PCs with internet connection had Flash installed.
