The Flagler County Health Department continues to modify its near-term vaccination efforts to reach working residents and local businesses.
Last week, the health department shared plans to relocate first dose appointments from the Flagler County Fairgrounds to other locations throughout the county. Second dose appointments on Monday and Tuesday mornings will continue at the fairgrounds for a few more weeks. Those anticipating their second dose should confirm the date, time and location on the back of their vaccination card. Anyone with questions should contact the call center (weekdays) at 386-437-7350 ext. 0.

Restaurants all around the country have struggled to hire workers with customers flooding back as coronavirus restrictions start to subside. As dining rooms begin to reopen and customers return in mass, reports show, restaurant owners are finding it difficult to get servers, hosts and cooks to do the same.
“We’re printing the applications, setting up the interviews, having managers coming in on their days off to do the interviews,” John Lulgjuaj, the owner of Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill, said. “And 80 percent of them don’t show up.” ....

Restaurants are busy, but many are finding it hard to keep up with demand because of a worker shortage. Owners are blaming what they call generous unemployment benefits.
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - As restaurants statewide struggle with a worker shortage, some are forking out more cash to try to reel in employees.
Virgil Morar runs five restaurants, including Monterey Grill in Port Orange. He’s offering a $150 bonus to new employees who stay more than 30 days.
That kind of helps them get accustomed to their schedule, the environment, and it’s a bonus at the end of the month for a good job, he said. ....

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – A restaurant owner in Flagler Beach recently wrote a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis. In it, the owner said business owners need help before more restaurants have to close down because they don’t have enough people to work.
