MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: April 23, 2021 Shanti Seidel Molina The Cascade Symphony Orchestra will present “Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto,” its sixth and final virtual concert of the 2020-21 season, on Monday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. This online music program, as has been the case for all previous CSO musicales this season, is presented free of charge through the generosity of orchestra donors and patrons. Because all in-person concerts for the season were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the symphony has produced five online shows – including one for children. Classical KING FM (98.1) personality Dave Beck will open the May 3 CSO virtual program conversing with Cascade Symphony music director Michael Miropolsky. That will be followed by music for the season. ....
Mexican students dance in protest against sexual abuse 1 minute read Mexico City, Apr 23 (EFE).-A group of a Mexican dance academy students Friday protested with a symbolic dance performance outside the landmark cultural center in Mexico City to highlight alleged sexual harassment they have faced at the institute. The protesting students demanded the dismissal of academy director Raymundo Torres, who has allegedly ignored sexual harassment complaints against accused teachers. A protester, requesting anonymity, told EFE that Torres had abused his power and neglected the complaints of students who have faced harassment for years. The students of the Mexican Academy of Dance affiliated with the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature have for the past week been denouncing through social networks the alleged sexual abuse at the hands of their teachers and school authorities. ....
