Tulane’s efforts to treat, cure and prevent disease are not confined within the walls of the School of Medicine. Instead, the most exciting medical discoveries will happen across campuses and departments made possible by the teamwork of researchers in multiple schools and departments. Three School of Medicine investigators one who recently joined Tulane, one who has seven years of service to the university, and one who returned to Tulane shortly before the pandemic began show that the future of medicine hinges on capacity for collaboration, inside the lab and out.

NEW ORLEANS Another COVID vaccine could soon be out on the market.
Doctors still need to go through the clinical trial results before it s approved, but local doctors say that could happen in the next couple of weeks.
And that could cut down on your wait time to get the shot in your arm.
In mid-September a small place in Metairie, was the first research center in the entire country, to open the Johnson and Johnson study for a coronavirus vaccine.  Clinical Trials Management signed up nearly 500 study participants.  ....

New Orleans planning to ramp up COVID vaccine distribution

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The city of New Orleans says later this week it will announce plans to ramp up covid vaccine distribution. The latest figures show the state has only administered about one out of every three doses it has received.
A milestone at Tulane University where 5000 Pfizer doses are now going into the arms of School employees, and students.
“We think that there is a big need to step up vaccinations across the board and we think we can help,” said Patrick Delafontaine, M.D., the dean of the Tulane Medical School. ....
