The 750-mile multi-use trail runs from Manhattan north to the Canadian border in Rouses Point, near the northern tip of Lake Champlain, and also from Buffalo to Albany. (Lori Van Buren/Times Union)Lori Van Buren/Albany Times Union Q: The intersection of State Route 203, Columbia County Route 32 and Bunker Hill Road in North Chatham has recently been redesigned to accommodate the new Empire State Rail Trail. Unfortunately, not all aspects of the redesign are improvements. Vehicles traveling south on 203 making a right turn onto County 32 West are very difficult for vehicles stopped at the end of Bunker Hill Road to see approaching. Vehicles traveling south on Bunker Hill Road wishing to continue south on Route 203 must make a left turn onto Route 32 very close to the intersection with Route 203, and then a right onto 203. Vehicles entering Route 32 west from 203 southbound previously had a stop sign where Bunker Hill Road ended. This stop has been eliminated.
