In 2020, a total of 6,982 traffic accidents occurred in Uzbekistan. This is less by 13.7% than a year earlier (8,092).
According to the Traffic Safety Department under the Interior Ministry, 1,962 people were killed in traffic accidents last year. Compared to 2019, the number of victims (2,094) decreased by 6.3%.
The number of fatal accidents decreased by 12.9% (from 1,940 to 1,689), and the number of injuries in traffic accidents decreased by 16.8% (from 7,923 to 6,591).
