Over 700 Health Experts Are Calling For Urgent Action To Expand Global Production Of COVID Vaccines


Today, we are joining over
700 health professionals and academics in sending an open
letter to Prime Minister Scott Morrison urging him to
take a leadership role in expanding the global production of
COVID-19 vaccines and other medical tools to fight the
pandemic.
The letter, signed by 207 doctors, 177
academics and 111 public health professionals, asks the
government to help remove legal and technical barriers to
increasing the production of COVID-19 vaccines, diagnostic
tests, treatments and other equipment.
We argue
there is more Australia and other wealthy nations
can and should be doing to end the pandemic.

Long COVID: a public health expert's campaign to understand disease

On March 20 2020, while the UK was anticipating its first national lockdown to control the coronavirus pandemic, I started feeling unwell with what felt like a COVID-19 infection.
Over the next couple of days, I developed a collection of symptoms: fever, chills, cough, chest heaviness, exhaustion, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and bad muscle aches, particularly in my legs. Since the UK government had stopped lab testing for those who were not hospitalised for COVID-19 on March 12, the vast majority of community infections in March remained unconfirmed by testing, including mine.
