Hutchison Ports to acquire APMT Rotterdam container terminal

Hutchison Ports Netherlands has signed an agreement to acquire the Rotterdam container terminal from APM Terminals (APMT).

In December 2019, Hutchison Ports signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of APM Terminals Rotterdam (APMTR) from APMT, the port operations unit of A P Moller-Maersk.
The agreement states that, in the short-term, APMTR will continue to function as an independent entity, A P Moller-Maersk will provide a five-year volume guarantee and there will be no involuntary terminations by Hutchison Ports within four years of signing. ....

Plaquemines Port and APM Terminals have announced an agreement to work together to discuss the future design of the Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District (PPHTD), including the consideration of APM Terminals as the future terminal operator.
The facility is in the early stages of development as a deep water, multi-modal, state-of-the-art container terminal in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. Located on the Mississippi river just 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico the gateway port would cater to exporters and importers who could tap into the multimodal routing options from rail, truck and barge. The agreement represents a formal discussion phase whereby both parties will conduct multiple studies prior to making a final investment decision. The proposed, environmentally friendly terminal, will be powered by a combination of LNG and electricity. ....

Louisiana’s Plaquemines Port and Duch container terminal operating company APM Terminals will work together on the future design of the Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District (PPHTD).

Officials with the Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District (PPHTD) and APM Terminals, an A.P.Moller-Maersk company, have announced an agreement to collaborate on the future design of the port’s long-planned container terminal near Mile 50 on the Lower Mississippi River. According to the announcement, part of the discussion will include the consideration of APM Terminals as the future terminal’s operator.
The deepwater, multimodal container facility would be located near Point Celeste, La., on the right descending bank.
“The appeal of Plaquemines’ protected river port location and export/import market strength makes this a very unique supply chain offering for customers and our growth ambitions,” said Wim Lagaay, CEO of APM Terminals North America, which also operates the container terminal at nearby Port of Mobile, Ala. “We look forward to working with P ....
