25th annual McNay Print Fair goes virtual

.- The McNay Art Museums highly-anticipated annual Print Fair is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an all-new virtual format. This years event will be held May 12 on the McNays website at www.mcnayart.org/print-fair. Access is free and open to the public.
Weve pivoted to a virtual Print Fair experience out of an abundance of caution and care for our patrons, staff, and dealers from around the country, said Lyle W. Williams, McNay Curator of Prints and Drawings, Curator of Modern Art. This years event may be the biggest one yet because we really are opening the experience up to the world, while still bringing those conversations with dealers and artists to attendees through a video format. ....

Eighteen photographs of Selena Quintanilla-Perez have been acquired by the Smithsonian s National Museum of American History. The Washington, D.C.-based institution announced the news on April 16, what would have been the singer s 50th birthday.
The photos, all of which were shot by San Antonio photographer Al Rendon, depict Selena is concert - including a classic shot in her trademark leather jacket - as well as headshots and candids of her interacting with fans. The images are now part the museum s Photographic History Collection, and join additional Selena photographs donated by Rendon in 2015. ....
