State Told To Stop Workplace Virus Fines
Republican State Representative Sarah Lightner of Springport in Jackson County is openly challenging the state’s enforcement of workplace COVID-19 rules. She is telling the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) it needs to spend some time reviewing, if not outright returning fines, assessed against state businesses.  And now based on the latest round of enforcement actions, fines against a state-owned and operated prison.
Representative Lightner is chair of a House appropriations subcommittee. During a recent State House committee hearing with MIOSHA Director Bart Pickelman, she took the department to task for imposing citations and fines which essentially are all based on Executive Orders from the Governor. Those Executive Orders were long ago determined to be unconstitutional by the Michigan State Supreme Court. Now what is happening is the same rules are being imposed by state departments as a workar ....

'Stop the Steal' not to blame for Capitol violence, Michigander says


One of the first people to file a lawsuit to challenge Michigan’s election results believes President Donald Trump s supporters lost credibility on Wednesday after storming the U.S. Capitol. 
Edward P. McCall Jr. was one of the Wayne County residents named as a plaintiff in a lawsuit that sought to void the Nov. 3 presidential election, stop certification of the vote by the Wayne County Board of Canvassers and hold a new election. While his lawsuit failed to stop the certification, he still hoped the so-called Stop the Steal movement would change the results of the presidential election. 
However, after rioters caused chaos at the Capitol Wednesday, McCall said he does not believe members of Congress will win by opposing certification of the presidential electors from states such as Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. ....
