Morris attorneys to fill Morris-Sussex judge openings

Morristown s loss may be Morris County s gain with the anticipated move of the town s law director, Vijayant Pawar, to the New Jersey Superior Court.
He was among five attorneys with Morris County ties nominated by Gov. Phil Murphy to fill a backlog of vacancies in the Morris-Sussex vicinage.
The judiciary has warned of a historic shortage of judges at a time when there is a massive backlog of cases due to the pandemic, including complex matters that will take time and expertise to resolve, said state Sen. Anthony Bucco, R-Boonton. .

Tashmoo Bar sues Morristown over occupancy limit for expansion area

MORRISTOWN  The operators of a Dehart Street bar are the latest to sue the township for inconsistencies in decisions and delays in getting public records.
Tashmoo Bar and Restaurant operators DeHart Associates and WCGP said Morristown s formula to determine its maximum occupancy load for their bar expansion is unreasonable, states the lawsuit filed in Morris County Superior Court. The bar also claims the town s clerk failed to honor requests for certificates of occupancy and other documents. 
Defendants’ arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable decision-making is worse than garden-variety incompetence, reads the lawsuit filed by the operators. 
DeHart Associates has owned and operated Tashmoo for the last 15 years and in 2016, began the process to expand into the adjacent lot at 10 DeHart Street. Bar owner Billy Walsh is not named as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.  ....
