Joe Biden Declares 'No Amendment to the Constitution Is Absolute' in Gun Control Speech

President Joe Biden declared Thursday that “no amendment is absolute” while unveiling a series of executive actions targeting American citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
“Today, we’re taking steps to confront not just the gun crisis, but what is actually a public health crisis,” Biden announced in a speech at the White House’s Rose Garden, claiming: “Nothing, nothing I am about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment.”
“No amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute,” the president continued. “You can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater recall a freedom of speech. From the very beginning, you couldn’t own any weapon you wanted to own. From the very beginning that the Second Amendment existed, certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons.” ....

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey (R) has threatened to sue the Biden administration after President Joe Biden unveiled a series of gun control orders Thursday.
“Defending the Second Amendment remains one of the most important priorities for the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office. I will not allow the far left to run roughshod over our citizens’ gun rights. If President Biden follows through on his proposals, we will be in court very quickly,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Gun violence and the senseless death attributed to it should pain all Americans, however, the evil acts of a select few should never be a catalyst for stripping the lawful masses of their constitutional rights, especially their right to self-defense and to bear arms.”  ....

West Virginia Attorney General issued the following announcement on Mar. 29.
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey reminded schools and parents of the upcoming deadline for the office’s fifth Kids Kick Opioids contest – Friday, April 16.
The contest engages elementary and middle school students in designing a public service announcement to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription painkiller abuse. Potential submissions may be a poem, drawing, letter or anything that would promote awareness.
“I am amazed each year by the creative talent of students across the state,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “The deadline for this year’s contest is quickly approaching. I encourage every school to consider participating, especially given that we have seen how this contest can make a real difference in teaching students and raising awareness of a crucial fact – opioids can kill.” ....

WEST VIRGINIA ATTORNEY GENERAL: Attorney General Morrisey Fights Unlawful Sales of Fake Vaccination Cards

West Virginia Attorney General issued the following announcement on Apr. 2.
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey called on Twitter, eBay and Shopify to act immediately to prevent people from selling fraudulent vaccination cards on their platforms.
The bipartisan coalition of 45 attorneys general raised concerns about public health risks posed by the fake cards in a Thursday letter to the companies’ chief executive officers. Their concern specifically notes the marketing and sale of blank or fraudulently completed cards that bear the U.S. Centers for Disease Control logo.
“We are deeply concerned about this use of your platforms to spread false and misleading information regarding COVID vaccines,” Attorney General Morrisey joined in writing. “The false and deceptive marketing and sales of fake COVID vaccine cards threatens the health of our communities, slows progress in getting our residents protected from the virus, and are a violation ....
