It’s the stuff of nightmares. Any collector of anything is torn asunder when the object of their desire is engulfed by flames.
And yet again, we learn of another irreplaceable collection of vintage motorcycles and memorabilia consumed by fire.
This time it was the turn of Austria’s Top Mountain Crosspoint Motorcycle Museum, situated at some 2000m in Timmelsjoch Pass on the border of Austria and Italy. Opened as recently as 2016 by brothers Alban and Attila Scheiber along with an in-house restaurant, this magnificent collection housed more than 230 historic motorcycles, replicas and rare vintage vehicles. ....

The Top Mountain Crosspoint Motorcycle Museum was both the highest museum in the world and a true gem. Opened in 2016 by brothers Alban and Attila Scheiber, it was situated in Timmelsjoch Pass, on the border between Austria and Italy, and housed over 230 historic motorcycles, replicas, and rare vintage cars.
According to Fire World, local firefighters were called at around 4.30 in the morning by the two staff members on the museum grounds after they’d been woken up by the fire alarm. One of them tried to put out flames with a portable fire extinguisher, but he was forced to evacuate due to heavy smoke. ....

The Top Mountain Crosspoint motorcycle museum in Austria suffered a fire yesterday, dealing a massive blow to the global motorcycling community. Also known as the highest motorcycle museum in the world, it is located at the Timmelsjoch Pass s Austrian side. In case you didn t know, the Timmelsjoch Pass links Austria and Italy through the Alps. But back to the museum it was home to more than 230 legendary motorcycles from brands such as Brough Motorcycles, Indian Motorcyles, Harley-Davidson, etc. In fact, the museum also housed a relatively small collection of vintage cars, including some Ferrar ....
