Darlington Library has created a range of Reading Well Bags for children, teens and adults containing a range of books to borrow and useful tips to boost their health and wellbeing. A well known greengrocer, Robin Blair, who has a stall in Darlington s indoor market, also sponsored the initiative, enabling a pack of flower seeds to be added to each bag. The library has also added a range of Reading Well books to its online collection so readers can log in from home and borrow a range of titles designed to help with mental health and wellbeing.
1/1 A TOWN S Mayor has been left red-faced after a he boobed on a thank you card to hundreds of care workers. The Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Chris McEwan, decided to send ‘thank you’ cards and plants to 650 care workers in the town. As well as working in partnership with Darlington Inner Wheel, the Mayor managed to secure generous sponsorship from market trader Robin Blair, Corstorphine and Wright Architects, Haughton Residents’ Association, The Sherwoods Group, tgi Media, and ELG Planning. However, the Mayor made a slight boob when it came to acknowledging the sponsors on the cards. Instead of ELG Planning, a planning consultancy based in Coniscliffe Road, he credited ELG Group – which happens to be the European Lingerie Group.
