Stonewall “threatened” to silence a gender-critical barrister they deemed “transphobic” by having her sacked, court documents have revealed.
Allison Bailey, a lesbian criminal barrister who helped to set up the LGB Alliance, is currently suing the embattled charity, claiming it collaborated with her chambers to put her under investigation.
Ms Bailey, who set up a crowdfunder to cover her legal bills, lodged a claim at the Employment Tribunal against Stonewall and Garden Court Chambers last year alleging that she was silenced “because both my chambers and Stonewall treat people such as me, who hold gender critical beliefs, as being bigoted and unworthy of respect”.  ....

His departure will trigger a by-election in one of the Labour Party’s most vulnerable seats, which Mr Hill retained with a significantly reduced vote share at the 2019 election after the chairman of the Brexit Party stood against him. ....

A former employment law lecturer with BPP University has been awarded £168,000 by an employment tribunal after a finding that she was constructively unfairly dismissed.
The award was made to Elizabeth Aylott following a four-day hearing at the London Central Employment Tribunal and after she won her claim last year.
As part of the
remedy, Employment Judge Adkin awarded £71,000 compensation for future financial losses, £32,000 for past financial losses and £20,000 for injury to feeling.
The same judge had ruled last year that Aylott was constructively unfairly dismissed and unfavourably treated because of something arising from her disability. Claims for direct disability discrimination, harassment, indirect disability discrimination and failure to make reasonable adjustment were all dismissed. ....
