The Chief Medical Director of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Adetokunbo  Fabamwo, has advised men to show empathy and understanding when their wives has just given birth, and not to abandon the bedroom, thereby leaving the responsibility of nurturing the newborn to their wives alone.
The CMD noted that some men are in the habit of abandoning family bedroomonce the wife has a baby.
He counselled fathers to support their wives and be involved in looking after the newborn.

A group, The Liberators, has called on the Lagos State government to choose the best candidate for the position of the Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU, among those jostling for the position.
The group also said there should be no special consideration for any contender.
This followed the Computer-Based Test conducted for the shortlisted candidates on Thursday at the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja.
Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in LASU, Prof. Ibrahim Bakare, urged the Visitor to the institution, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to select the best candidate who would not only maintain the peace being enjoyed now but prioritise workers’ welfare and take the institution to enviable heights. ....

It appears the management of the
Lagos State University (LASU) has failed to learn from the controversy that led to the recent cancellation of the appointment of a new vice-chancellor for the institution.
The school has again shortlisted two candidates without PhDs (Doctor of Philosophy) for its vacant vice chancellor position despite the position of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the agency that regulates university education in Nigeria, that fellowships of any professional bodies or organisation cannot be substituted for a PhD. ....

COVID-19: How Nigerian govt is allegedly prioritizing workers safety, economy above children's health


The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, at the weekend ordered the shutting down of all the courtrooms in the state over fears of the new wave of COVID-19.
DAILY POST had reported that Justice Ojo gave the order barely 24 hours after five cases of the deadly B117 strain of COVID-19 was detected in the state.
She ordered all workers from grade level 12 and below in the state judiciary to work from home.
