The Tripura government has announced extension of the corona curfew in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas and all urban local bodies (ULB) till June 5 to contain the spread of the pandemic. Earlier, a corona curfew was imposed in AMC areas and ULBs across the state on May 17, and a night curfew in other parts of Tripura till May 26. ....

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the curfew to contain Covid-19 infection would continue till June 5. Earlier, curfew started in rural areas from 5 p.m. Now curfew in villages will start from 2 p.m. The curfew in urban areas would be from 12 noon. Both in urban and rural areas, the curfew would remain enforced till 5 a.m., he told the media. ....
URL copied The summer vacation for school students has also been extended till June 7. The Tripura government has announced to promote students from classes 1 to 4, 6 and 7 without exams. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told reporters, Class I, II, III, IV, VI & VII Students will be promoted to the next higher classes when the school will reopen then the students will be taken an examination of their respective classes that is of their previous classes for Evaluation of learning levels.  The summer vacation for school students has also been extended till June 7 considering the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state. ....

Image Source: IANS News Agartala/Guwahati, May 21 : After Assam, a 68-year-old woman has been admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on Friday with mucormycosis infection, commonly known as black fungus. Tripura Education and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who is also the spokesperson for the state government, told the media on Friday night that the woman is now under treatment as per the standard protocols of the government. He refused to give further details of the patient. Nath said the state government is following the advice of the Union Health Ministry, which on Thursday urged all the states and Union Territories to declare black fungus as an epidemic under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. ....
