Jason Sudeikis wins Screen Actors Guild award for 'Ted Lasso'

Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso continues to add awards, with star and co-writer Jason Sudeikis now picking up the Screen Actors Guild s comedy series acting trophy.
Adding to its slew of awards to date including Critics Choice and Writers Guild wins Ted Lasso has now added a further acting award for star and co-writer Jason Sudeikis at the SAG Awards 2021.
Sudeikis won for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, beating Nicholas Hoult for The Great, Ramy Youssef for Ramy, and both Daniel Levy and Eugene Levy for Schitt s Creek.

Supreme Court rules in favor of Google in Oracle Java fight

The US Supreme Court has sided with Google in the search company s long-running legal fight with Oracle, declaring Android could use APIs from the Oracle-owned Java.
In Monday s ruling, based on arguments from October 2020, the Supreme Court decided that Google s use of API code from Java was fair use. The decision, which effectively overrules an earlier federal ruling that Google infringed on the code, allowing the search company to escape paying potentially billions to Oracle.
Google was accused of copying roughly 11,500 lines of code from Java SE s API for use in its development of Android as a mobile platform. Oracle believed this was an infringement of its copyright, prompting lawsuits. ....

Adani Ports acquire 25% of Vishwasamudra's stake in Krishnapatnam Port

Private sector ports and logistics company Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) is acquiring the residual 25 per cent stake in Adani Krishnapatnam Port Ltd., (Krishnapatnam Port) for Rs 2,800 crore.
With this, APSEZ will increase its stake from 75 per cent to 100 per cent in Krishnapatnam Port, the country s second largest private sector port. The acquisition will be completed by buying 25 per cent from Vishwa Samudra Holdings.
Together with the 75 per cent ownership acquired in October 2020, the acquisition implies an enterprise value of Rs 13,675 crore implying an EV/FY21 EBITDA multiple of 10.3x.
Krishnapatnam Port is located on the east coast of India in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh (180 km from Chennai Ports) close to the border between Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Adobe releases public beta of Premiere Pro for Apple Silicon

A native Apple Silicon edition of video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro is now available as a public beta.
Following its December 2020 limited beta release, an Apple Silicon M1 native edition of Adobe Premiere Pro has entered public beta.
Since Premiere Pro is built on a large codebase with support for a wide range of media and workflows, announced the company in a blog post, we will implement native support for Apple M1 in phases and some parts have not been ported yet.

Global chip shortage could last until the middle of 2022, foundries say

The global semiconductor shortage wreaking havoc on industries across the globe could last until 2022 before supply begins to meet demand, though Apple could avoid the worst of it.
Largely caused by a spike in demand for consumer technology during the coronavirus pandemic and other factors, the global chip shortage is causing automotive plants to shut down and smartphone makers to reevaluate release plans.
GlobalFoundries, the third largest chip foundry in the world, said Friday it was planning to invest $1.4 billion to ramp up production capacity in an effort to address the issue. According to
