GOP lawmakers plaintiffs in latest election lawsuit
Two Republicans in the Wisconsin Assembly have signed on to the latest federal court lawsuit, seeking to overturn results of the presidential election in Wisconsin and other four other states.
The
Journal Sentinel reports that Representatives Jeff Mursau of Crivitz and David Steffen of Green Bay are plaintiffs in the suit. It names Governor Tony Evers, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senator Howard Marklein, who the suit incorrectly identifies as majority leader. The suit also names the Electoral College.
The lawsuit alleges a “cabal” of public-private partnerships “directed the manner of the election contrary to state law creating disorder the state legislatures were unable to address,” the paper reports. ....

Amistad Project Lawsuit Seeks to Block Certification of Presidential Electors
A group has brought a lawsuit seeking to block the counting of Electoral College votes from several contested states when Congress meets in a joint session on Jan. 6.
The Amistad Project of the Thomas More Society filed the lawsuit on Dec. 22 arguing that the state legislatures of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Arizona were prevented from exercising their power under the U.S. Constitution to certify the presidential electors’ votes cast on Dec. 14. The group claims that a number of federal and state laws had unconstitutionally delegated the authority of state legislatures to certify these votes to state executive branches. ....

Legal challenges to presidential election results in Wisconsin and other states have been soundly rejected, but they keep coming. Republicans continue to seek to overturn the election in favor of
Donald Trump in advance of a January 6th meeting to count the Electoral College votes.
A new suit was filed Tuesday in federal court seeking to toss the results in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Arizona. The Wisconsin Voters Alliance is a plaintiff, as are similar groups in each of the challenged states. The Wisconsin group’s previous suit was rejected by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. ....

The conservative jurist who has defied conventional wisdom emerged as the key swing vote in four cases launched by President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn November s election results.
