STAMFORD Bobby Valentine is taking the field.
The Stamford native, Rippowam High School graduate, former Major League Baseball player and New York Mets manager, and current college athletics director announced Friday that he is running for mayor.

STAMFORD Days after former state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller was sworn in as a state senator, the governor on Friday set April 27 as the date for a special election to determine her replacement in the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Miller was sworn in Monday as the state senator for the 27th District, taking the place of Carlo Leone, who became an adviser to the head of the state Department of Transportation earlier this year. Before winning a special election this month, Miller represented the state House’s 145th District for 12 years. ....

STAMFORD Democrat Caroline Simmons has thrown her hat into the ring for Stamford’s mayoral election, but she won’t be alone, as Mayor David Martin has also filed paperwork to seek reelection.
