STAMFORD Days after former state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller was sworn in as a state senator, the governor on Friday set April 27 as the date for a special election to determine her replacement in the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Miller was sworn in Monday as the state senator for the 27th District, taking the place of Carlo Leone, who became an adviser to the head of the state Department of Transportation earlier this year. Before winning a special election this month, Miller represented the state House’s 145th District for 12 years.
Patricia Billie Miller took the oath as Connecticut’s newest state senator this week, becoming the first woman and first person of color elected to the Senate from Stamford and placing two Black women in the Senate for the first time.
