The government must look into the high reserve prices of spectrum for 5G wireless service considering the stress in the telecom sector and India’s underdeveloped ecosystem for a rollout, according to a committee report tabled in Parliament on Monday.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) recommended that ₹492 crore should be set as the base price for per MHz of spectrum in the 3,300-3,600MHz bands, ideal for 5G. ....

Black Grace

Black Grace Part 1
A Black Pastor’s Journey into the Content of Grace.
I struggled with the title “Black Grace” because grace is never imagined as black. Grace can be white, grace can be red, but never black. Grace seen as white describes the purity of the gift of grace, while red reflects the cost of the gift of grace. But black, who would paint grace with a dark hue? Black represents evil, it symbolizes all that is bad, and it is the absence of light (darkness).
Grace can’t be associated with black or so I thought. Until I pondered the massacre of nine African Americans in the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015, in Charleston, South Carolina by a young white man who is a self-admitted white supremacist. To be perfectly honest, the massacre wasn’t a surprise. I am a Black man and a Black pastor who has spent his life experiencing, observing, and ministering in the midst of the existential violence of American racism. The v ....

"Listen to Each Other"

Listen to Each Other
Greetings, North American Division Family,
It seems like we just entered year 2021. And just like that, it is February. With so much going on, time passes very quickly. February in the United States has been designated as Black History Month. We celebrate it every year with the intention of fostering a better understanding of African Americans and their history in this country. The celebration this year in 2021 has special meaning given the impact of COVID, the economic downturn, political turmoil, and the racial unrest in our country. In many ways, the divide seems to be getting even deeper. Perhaps it s just deep-seated issues (that have always existed but have been bubbling beneath the surface), that are just coming out to be seen by all. Black History Month is just that it is the history of a people, my people, Black people, their journey, their struggles, their disappointments, their contributions, and their triumphs. It is history. ....

Letter: Jan. 6 horrors

Print article
As the country sees more of the footage from the insurrection of Jan. 6, the horrors just multiply. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, you have to admit that event was terrible. They had a gallows all set up to hang Mike Pence. They said they were going to shoot Nancy Pelosi in the head. People were killed during that scene. How did we get to this point?
We need to start the healing by talking with each other and really listen. We need to read American history. We need more courses in civics.
We also need to read about Nazi Germany and see how close we are to the same fate. Germans were whipped into a fury by Adolf Hitler. There are Americans who are being whipped into a fury by Donald Trump. ....
