” … Hudson County Democrats have a negative net worth when debts they owe are subtracted from their cash-on-hand,” ELEC said in a statement today, also noting that the figures used for this statewide study should be considered preliminary.
While the HCDO reports $14,404.92 cash on hand in their July 15th report with the agency, ELEC notes that they have $138,774.40 of debt and therefore are in the red $124,369.48.
“Cash-on-hand is an important barometer of a political committee’s financial strength,”
noted ELEC Executive Director Jeff Brindle.
“While overall county party fund-raising has been lagging largely due to the pandemic, the collective war chest of more than $3 million is certainly respectable at this point in the election year. ....

Op-Ed: Everyone needs to work together to fight 'ballot harvesting' in N.J., Hudson County

With Georgia under attack by those pretending its laws do not allow early voting (it does) and that it prohibits drinking water in line (it does not), election integrity is in the national spotlight.
Nationally, Democrats are feigning objecting to requiring identification at the voting booth.
They allege it is a racist constitutional violation, as if Black and Hispanic Americans are somehow unable to get drivers licenses or other ID, yet they have no problem proposing a national system requiring people carry medical ID papers to travel, gather, and exercise free assembly – a 1st amendment freedom. ....

Demeaning text messages sent by a Republican state committeeman have exposed cracks in the Hudson County minority party’s unity.
The revelation of the messages, in which GOP state Committeeman Joshua Sotomayor-Einstein admitted to emotionally abusing a woman, have thrust the usually low-key Hudson County Republicans into the spotlight, highlighting a simmering discord over the party’s future.
“We have two sides of our parties digging in their heels, and they both have different ideas on how to run things, and they seem to be trying to take each other out,” said Jennifer Zinone, a Bayonne Republican who won 40,298 votes last year in an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. House of Representatives. ....

“My staff and I are safe and following guidance from Capitol Police,” he tweeted at the top of the hour.
“The scene in the Capitol goes against every value we pledge to uphold as a nation. Democracy will prevail.”
Supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump (R) have vowed to protest the electoral certification due to a widespread belief that Joe Biden (D) won the election due to fraudulent ballots – a claim Trump’s team failed to prove in court.
While the electoral count, typically a brief and mostly ceremonial event, began as planned, it has been suspended since about 3 p.m. after a woman was shot – now in critical condition – and the Senate had been breached by protesters, The Washington Post reported. ....
