the idea he came in with, was engage he engaged with china. with north korea, with iran. with syria. he has gotten less than nothing. the worst is with syria. you remember a few weeks ago he made a recession appointment, returning a u.s. ambassador in damascus. why is that important? because there is a way to try to appease him. syria to wean it away from iran. remember, syria and iran had been running lebanon until 2005 when there was a democratic revolution. the syrians were kicked out, iranians kicked out this week, hezbollah brought down the government, the prowestern, pro-american, propeace government, has now installed a puppet in his place and will essentially run lebanon. why is that important? because after the second lebanon war, we poured in huge amount of aid, material, weaponry to the lebanese army because it was a friend of ours, as a way to marginalize hezbollah.
