Just days after the Oregon Ducks extended a scholarship offer to 247Sports four-star running back Byron Cardwell, he listed a top collection of suitors - California, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff had a lot of work to do to jump into the mix and become a true contender.
The opportunity to do was realized when Cardwell, the nation’s No. 8 running back and the No. 1 running back in the West region, elected not to commit during December’s early signing period.
