it is the highest level meeting there has been between these two sides since the war began, erin. >> of course we can all hold out hope. thank you very much, matthew chance. outfront now, "new york times" photojournalist lindsay adario. she took that photo that i showed you a moment ago. i warn everybody as we talk about it that it is graphic and credibly hard to look at. four civilians, a mother, two children and a family friend, killed as they tried to evacuate from irpin in ukraine, a suburb of kyiv. there's been heavy shelling for days. there they are on the road trying to flee to safety and they're killed. ukrainian officials say more than 2,000 civilians were evacuated from irpin today. these people walked through the rubble to try to get to what they hope will be a safer location. obviously, it is still far from safety even when you are able to come out of that broken bridge area. lindsay is with me now.
